Does any of this sound like your night?
Tick the ones that are true for you.

What a year of bad nights quietly takes
It rarely feels like an emergency. You still get to work, you still get things done. But the patience goes first. Then the focus: the email that takes an hour instead of ten minutes. Then the weekends, spent recovering instead of living.
And the people closest to you get the tired version of you, night after night. Nobody would choose that. It just happens, one bad night at a time.
You have probably tried most of this
No screens after 10
It helps a little. But putting the phone down does not turn the mind off; it just removes the distraction from it.
Tablets and melatonin
Some people need them and that is between you and your doctor. What they do not teach you is how to settle yourself.
Meditation apps
"Just watch your breath" is hard when the mind is already racing. Most people give up in a week and decide meditation is not for them.
Exercising harder
It tires the body. It does not always switch off the part of you that is still on alert.
Each of these works around the symptom. None of them changes the state your body is stuck in. That is the part a breathing practice can reach.
Your body is still in the meeting
At the end of a hard day, your body does not know the day is over. The stress response that got you through it is still running: a slightly faster heart, shallower breathing, a mind scanning for the next problem. You lie down, but the alarm is still on.
You cannot think your way out of that state, because thinking is part of it. But you can breathe your way out. The breath is the one part of this system you can control directly, and a slow, rhythmic pattern tells the body it is safe to stand down.
- Shallow, quick breathing
- Mind keeps scanning for problems
- Body stays ready, sleep stays shallow
- Slow, rhythmic breathing
- The body gets the signal it is safe
- The mind settles, sleep comes easier

What people ask before they come
Is this religious?
No. The practices are based on the breath and are done by people of every faith and none. Nothing in the session asks you to believe anything.
Will you try to sell me something?
At the end the teacher explains the full Happiness Program once, including what it costs. Then you go home. Nobody will chase you.
I take medication for sleep. Can I still come?
Yes. The practice does not replace anything your doctor has advised, and you should not change any medication without speaking to them.
I cannot sit still or empty my mind.
You do not need to. This is a guided breathing practice, not a test of concentration. Most people who say this find it easier than they expected.
Do I have to turn my camera on?
No. Many people keep it off for the first session.
Why so late in the evening?
Because that is when the problem is. The Tuesday and Thursday sessions run 9 to 9:45 pm, so you can go straight to bed after the practice. There is also a Saturday evening session online and a Sunday morning session at our Rohini centre.
I am 60. Is it too late?
No. People of every age do this, including many in their seventies. Everything can be done sitting on a chair.
What if I cannot make the session I booked?
Reply on WhatsApp and we will move you to the next one. There are four every week.
One evening. Then decide for yourself.
Nothing to prepare, nothing to pay, nobody will chase you. The worst case is you spend an evening breathing, and go to bed a little calmer than usual.
